Microsoft promotions after September 30: what still applies

The discounts on E5, E7, Copilot, and Defender Suite have ended. What remains until year-end – and why you should recheck older quotes.

On September 30, 2026, Microsoft ended the CSP promotions on Microsoft 365 E5 (15% for one year, 10% for three years), on Microsoft 365 E7, on Microsoft 365 Copilot, and the 10% on Defender Suite and Purview Suite. Since October 1, Microsoft has shifted to "growth margins" – additional margin for partners. According to Microsoft, customer list prices remain unchanged.

Still running, among others: Microsoft 365 E3 with 10% on three-year terms (from 100 licenses) and 20% on one-year terms as a targeted offer (from 250 licenses, selected customers only), both through December 31, 2026; 50% on Purview Suite for Business Premium (requires Business Premium plus Copilot) through December 31, 2026; Windows 365 Business at 25% through June 30, 2027. New since October 1 is a 7.5% partner promotion on Defender Suite and Purview Suite for Business Premium – how much reaches the customer is up to the partner.

The status of the Copilot Business promotions is unclear: extended to the end of 2026 in July, a September notice states that Copilot promotions end. Have your CSP partner confirm them before you buy.

Practical tip: if you hold a quote from before October with an E5 or Defender discount, it most likely can no longer be executed on those terms. Also check minimum quantities – the E3 promotions only apply from 100 or 250 licenses.

365Butler checks which promotion applies on the day you ask and always states the end date.
